New short film from The Upper Room

Posted: August 23, 2011 in Uncategorized

The Upper Room participants worked with Open Cinema and BAFTA award-winner Martina Amati to make this film earlier this year.

The film premiered at the Open City Film Festival alongside Penny Woolcock’s amazing On The Streets feature documentary, about street homelessness on the London streets.

All participants in the film were from The Upper Room. The Upper Room is a charity supporting vulnerable, marginalised and street homeless of West London. All its services are free and the common themes are “improving lives” and “feeding communities in need”. See here for more information.

With many thanks to the wonderful people at Open Cinema, a superb organisation running film clubs and projects ‘programmed by and for homeless and vulnerable people. Each week participants watch the best in contemporary cinema and work with professional filmmakers to create films of their own.’ Do check them out here!
