Michael produced and edited some short promotional ads as part of the first UV Festival’s viral and social networking marketing.

The success of these has led to a longer documentary, coming soon – see here – as well as a follow-up film chronicling Hijacker lads in the run-up to their second, bigger festival.

Recently, Michael has been involved in advertising projects for Innocent Smoothies. In February 2011, he was invited to Innocent’s Mini-Movie Competition launch at Fruit Towers. After an inspirational talk by original Innocent ad director Ben Wheatley, Michael and the other film-makers present were tasked with making the sequel – in one hour!

Michael worked alongside budding film-makers Seb Cowan and Paul Wade and journalist Vernon Ward to produce an ad in the theme they were given – ‘car chase’. They came up with this.

The ad was technically the first award-winning film AFTER the Oscars! It won the award for best ad in the first week, for which Michael and the team were awarded a vast amount of smoothies. Michael is still working his way through his case.

The behind-the-scenes video to the Innocent Movie Making workshop is here too – with some of the insporational talk from Ben Wheatley.

Michael has produced a range of campaigning and awareness-raising films for charities in the UK and Africa – see NGO/Campaign Films for more details.
