‘The Fall’ was Michael’s first film – an innovative short film combining drama and animation.
The Fall is now on the BBC Film Network, following a successful festival run, screening at the London Short Film Festival, East London Film Festival, in Ecuador, Canada and Bulgaria, on Babelgum’s Animatron Film Festival, and being shortlisted for best short at the Black International Film Festival awards. The Fall has been shown in festivals around the world, and in October 2011 was aired on US TV, including NBC in New York, Las Vegas and Washington, and the FOX Network, as part of the African-American Short Film programme.
Presented by award winning Wilderness Productions: The Fall Jason (Leon Rainee), a young man looking after his alcoholic father and mentally ill brother, Darren (Zackary Momoh), is convinced they can’t manage without him. With the help of some animated graffiti and a bizarre night lost in London’s council estates, Jason comes to realise it is time to get on with his own life.
The Fall brings together gritty social drama and exciting animation. The cast and crew are from diverse backgrounds – from new talent to experienced award winning film-makers.
Professional graffiti artist Tizer One brought authenticity to the animated characters.
